I am in the process of switching out the bulbs in my 85 K10 to LED's. All of the lights that have caps (printed Circuit) are working but the one that is wired and on the right of the speedo will not work. I have power to the socket but it has power on both sides of the socket. Is this normal. I assumed that it should have power on one side and ground on the other. Am I wrong? It does have a ground wire that connects to a ground block. At this point, the speedo is still dark and that was the reason for changing the bulbs initially. Any help would certainly be appreciated.

You'll have to be a bit more specific.

but the one that is wired

Do you mean that the socket is supplied by two leads - that are external to the printed circuit?

When you say "to the right of the speedometer" is that as viewed from the driver's seat or from the back of the cluster - where you are working?

Just as guidance, there are 5 bulbs used for backlighting in your cluster.

I think he is referring to the 4x4 light. That’s the only one I can think of that isn’t solely run by the PC.

Yeah that's what I was gonna say but the 4WD indicator is usually in the LH side section of the little bucket under the speedometer - next to the choke light:

Also that would have to mean he has his T/C in 4WD.
