I have been reading these posts lately about transmission swaps, and it re-fueled my idea of switching my 81 C20 with 4:10's from TH400 to a manual with an overdrive. I have three manual transmissions, an sm420 that came out of my 65 C20, a Saginaw 3-speed that came out of my other 65 C20, and a Muncie M21 or M22 that I acquired years ago but never had anything to put it in. I have an extra set of pedals from my 65 C20, 2 bell housings, the high impact overdrive unit, extra drivelines, etc. Just don't have a shop, or a welder, and that is what makes me hesitant to pull the trigger. But man that truck would be fun to drive with a manual transmission.

Here are the pics of my transmissions:

Does anyone know by the numbers if that Muncie is the M-21 or M-22? I was told it was the M-22.

May 10, 1968 is the build date, no ratio code so its either a M20 or M21.
