Now is the time to decide what your end goal is. If you just want a reliable engine that cruises and runs well buy a crate motor. If you have been eyeballing turbo LS swaps now is the start of your ls swap.

A guy in Dallas that’s builds for gas monkey garage told me 10 grand for an ls swap. He said turn key without ac being connected. He also said he would not let be supply the engine, he wants to supply everything so he will know it’s done right. I think he said 5.3 or 5.7. I think that’s to much? Any suggestions?

Some JB-Weld on that pan you'll be back on the road in no time.

10k is too much for me, but your wallet may be thicker than mine. If it were me, I'd be getting a vortec engine and be back up and running in short order, over a lengthy LS swap just to say you did it. Then again, I've never been into fads, and the LS thing is one of those.

You only live once so might as well go talk to the banker on this turn key deal. He even has a 1 yr warranty. To my knowledge no one else offers this. I have a little less in mine, but at 12 yr old prices using my iron heads, building it myself, and not broken in and dyno tuned. 10 grand for an LS, I wouldn’t do it , 14 and change for this is a bargain as far as I’m concerned.
Just something to kick around in your head.

I wouldn't do 10k on an ls swap, but that's just me.

For 10 grand I can buy another truck, I just can’t justify that money on anything right now. I spent that kind of money in my kitchen and it was well worth it because it added value to the house. I won’t get any money back if I ever decide to sell the truck. I am already deep in the truck money wise now.
