Same thing. The cover on my bell housing is rubbing on something. If I loosen the bolts and pry a little, the noise stops.

Dumb question: The harmonic balancer was recently replaced. Then the noise started.

Is it possible they banged the balancer on with a hammer and created this problem?

Or is it just a coincidence?
I'd guess coincidence. My issue was caused because they changed the clutch and flywheel, so they had all that apart.

Does the starter nose cone look ok? Bet ya that when they took the inspection cover off something fell out or even a non torqued flywheel bolt maybe and then kept mum about it.
