My stroker does that on the highway running 60-65 without A/C.
If I never get above 45 it runs at 180 or so.
So I should not plan on putting A/C in that truck.

what I did was wire the electrical fan that came with the truck to kick on with the a/c so it keeps the temp down unless I sit still then it goes to 190* but never gets to 200* anymore.

That's cool! Thing is I have a trans cooler in the way.so I may try a smaller fan. Hope it doesn't cause problems at hwy speeds

How about a pusher mounted in the void space behind the grille.

Run the power to the new "condenser cooling fan" through a relay. On the control side, wire the coil in series with the compressor clutch feed.

Whenever the compressor clutch pulls in, the condenser cooling fan kicks in too. Doesn't need to be a big unit, just enough to blow away the BTU's picked up in the evap coil.

That way, the main radiator fan can just take care of the engine coolant.

THIS^^^ is an awesome idea! I wonder if I can find one at the yard while I'm there... hmmm I wonder what cars if any had push fans in front of the condenser.

Look for a Saab 9000 - they use that exact set up.

GM dustbuster vans had them too and they are powerful. 1990-96 triplets.

My '89 stays at 190 all day long with the A/C on. Except on the anniversary of when I bought her, she decided then to run a little hotter. :/
