Anyone have an idea on the adhesive GM used to bond the inner frame structure and outer hood panel together? I have two hoods that the outer upper skin is separating frome the inner frame structure.

when one of my autobody friends was fixing a vette we called 3M's answer line and they actually picked right up in a few minutes to detail what panel adhesive to use on that year vette and what the front bumper cover was made out of.

...so yes they did know, and they did detail what product group to buy from by #. ...and it was sadly complex to pick without asking them....

I would hope JB weld also has such. (I did not call them, but was looking at JB weld a few months ago to fix some snow shovels,...and surprised you can get dropped onto 3 completely different product lines just based on what you think a 2003 snow shovel was made of... vs. trying to replace it in February when there are none available to buy,...used 2 types and still unhappy. with my brittle old favorite go-to shovel....we have spent so many hours together fighting old man winter I just don't want to give her up. ...but come December a new one may have to be found locally to sit by her side, so I don't have to pay shipping).

I used automotive/marine seam sealer/body adhesive on the hood of my C20. It works but I have no clue if it's permanent solution.

I added rubber from damaged motorcycle air chambers to stop the outer skin from wobbling white I found a welder that could assure me wouldn't burn a hole in it.

Weld it only if it needs to be repainted anyway… That factory paint is some kind of foul if it gets scorched. And then add insulation to cut down some of the noise and/or heat induced paint damage.
