hey guys i have noticed when i shift into into reverse it takes a few times for to actually shift into the gear and when it does it hits kinda hard. and when im driving while its shifting it hits too. im thinking maybe a good flush and fluid and filter change might help. what do yall think?

What transmission do you have?

TH400 does this also, so I will be interested what others say. Mine is like a hard clunk, and it only does it going back into reverse, not to the forward gears.

Have you just let the truck idle to warm up the trans to see what it does then?

Does it have a shift kit installed? Hard shifts are not necessarily bad because they help with wear on the clutches.

Not my knowledge. Honestly I might take it off and take to a transmission shop. I want a shift kit for it. I just want everything done right. It's my first project I don't wanna mess it up
