In my '72 I had to lengthen some of them but ran them all through the fenders after I protected them with the split loom.

Not really the engine harness that's my issue I already went thru it and took out all the unnecessary stuff and rewrapped it, it's all the add on stuff like the choke cable, AN oil pressure line, temp probes, line lock, trans brake and 2 step power supply lines that need tidied up, all the red wiring you do see will end up under the passenger side dash on an MSD relay box fed from the starter battery lug with the rest of the electronics. Hopefully this weekend a lot of this will be addressed if the weather plays nice. Needs a bath as well.

I wonder if i can hide some wiring behind the firewall inside the cab?

You for sure can. A local guy here had all of his wiring going forward of the cab come out in the fenders and then wrapped around the front. for the back of the motor stuff he went out right behind the motor. There is plenty of places to hide wiring if your willing to do the work. Inside the fenders are a great place to get all the way to the front.

I bought a complete kit of the Powerbraid woven Aramid/Kevlar loom stuff from Painless when I got a harness. (The "premium" grade, not the standard.) It stands up to heat and abrasion. (Even tested it with a MAPP gas torch.) It's easy to work with and makes a clean-looking job.

Same, although im not done yet. Its expensive but looks good. A little frustrating to open up, but I guess that means I dont have to worry about wiring drooping out
