I don't buy the lock washer story either. Differances are standard equipment. And way back in the 60,s GMC got things like Heavy Duty Rear Leaf spring Dana Rear axles and the Chevies got Coil Spring lighter duty Eaton/Corp rear ends. Dash arrangements were also different in the 60's up to 66, then in 67 they were uniform.
