Help needed

Hey guys i need some help iding what this is and maybe some fixes when in park it is not causing any issues when in drive accelerating it starts to get very hot and shortly after noticing that the truck died and the igntion felt as if the switch blew out no starter or anything a day later i came back and ignition worked she started right up this picture is just under the steering wheel on the right

"Almost"... looks like a brakelight switch. Any part numbers on it?

Yes that is the brake light switch.

Doesn't resemble the current aftermarket offerings for a 4 pronger, but the orange and white wire were a good clue.

The second set of contacts are for the transmission by the looks of things. This is the 1983 wiring manual, don’t have an 82 manual.

Thanks for the input guys I have a very strong feeling its that I am not very good at wiring and I did try to rewire the brake lights but for the guy who asked its a th350 you guys are the best

The second set of contacts is either for the cruise control, or as others mentioned the lockup torque converter.
