My 75 custom deluxe appears to have aftermarket body side molding. Please tell me if you think I’m wrong. But it is just straight - does not curve down around side marker. Were there previous years that had this styling? It also has a vinyl insert that is gold or tan/saddle. The insert seems to have shrunk over time. I’d like to replace the insert with black vinyl since I’m adding the wheel opening molding that has the black. Any ideas where I could find this? Also any info on who might have made this “channel” trim? I’d also consider changing out the blunt front end cap to a point if I could find the hardware. Trim is riveted on. Anyone know any history about this type of trim?

No help with your trim other than to agree that it is probably aftermarket as the nose is not tapered, but love the color. Our '75 GMC was listed as Moss Gold. :waytogo:

Not sure what Chevy called it.

That is universal aftermarket moulding, from the 70's or 80's. Unfortunately, I think finding replacement insert material will be like finding a needle in a haystack. Someone with deep pockets could probably have it reproduced though.

It looks like what they put on the older RVs and camper tops. They still make the inserts for that stuff buts probably only gonna be black or white.

While I agree that the camper moulding stuff may work, it is definitely not at all like what's in the pictures.
