Hi everyone, I just picked up a 1984 C10 in Portland, OR. I'm new to wrenching on an automobile, but it's been a longtime dream to own and work on a classic truck. And luckily I have a 6-year old helper who's excited to help!

Clearly not a stock truck and needs lots of work to make her pretty again. It has an Edelbrock intake, valve covers, and 1406 carb, and what appears to be a replacement engine. Still trying to figure out exactly what I have under the hood. It also looks like someone at some point started a 4x4 conversion but never finished. It has Warn locking hubs on the front and a front differential that isn't connected to anything, but nothing in the cab and no transfer case.

Looking forward to learning from this community as I work through getting it sorted. Will definitely be posting more specific questions as I dig in, I already have plenty of them.

Thanks for having me!

North coast says hi!

This is a smart bunch, and most likely if you're having a problem with something, someone here already has had that problem too.

One thing to keep in mind is that we love, love, love pictures. The whole thousand words thing comes to mind. Also, the search function here can save some time for you fetching an answer to the more mundane questions you may have.

Either way, welcome aboard and enjoy the new adventure you're about to embark upon. Squares are great fun and you will look cool enjoying them too.
