I jumpered the battery to the blower motor and it did not come on so i assume the motor is bad.

Only other thing I can think of is to check the connections and make sure they are clean, don't forget the ground as well.

Why spend money needlessly?

If you have determined that the fan motor is not operational, just pull it (you have to anyway) and test it again on the bench. Use the truck battery. Jumper from the battery positive to the fan's power terminal and run another jumper wire from a paint free spot on the fan housing to the battery negative.

BE AWARE - even though they look like toys and are light weight, these blower assemblies (the motor and the squirrel cage fan) develop a surprisingly large amount of torque, especially at initial start up.

When/if you go to apply power while bench testing, MAKE SURE it is well secured. If you get lucky and it starts, there is a good chance it will fly right off the bench.

If that doesn't spin the fan - then yeah, you need to get a new one. But save yourself the $15 and don't buy a new resistor yet. Yours is probably fine and may well last forever.

But before you even do pull the blower out, please read the text I inserted into the image below (click to enlarge):

No the blower motor used on A/C applications is bigger so it pulls more amps. Plus you'd have to hack into your wiring harnes and splice on a new connector. I don't even think it would mount correctly on the plenum housing.

I been wondering this myself and I have a few of each motors to compare in the shop at some point and share here. To me they look like that same except the fan that mounts to the motor shaft is shallower in depth compared to the AC fan. Heat only housing is an inch or 2 shallower measuring from the mounting face of the housing to the face of the firewall. When I find the time I will share those pics and do some comparison measurements and such.

That clicking sounds like a relay. Is this a new blower motor or a used one?

So somewhere between the fan switch and the connectors on the blower motor and relay you are not getting power. Time to get out the voltmeter and see where you're not getting power.

But the motor looks just like a non a/c motor! But it has the 7/8ths hole for the a/c tube. Could it be the wrong motor?

A multimeter will be your best friend in this situation instead of wasting money on parts that aren't bad.

Doesn't matter - internally, they are wired the same. The difference is which type of plenum you have. If the fan (either with or without a ventilation hole) is mounted into a plastic A/C plenum, it requires an external ground wire. Did you see this and read/understand the text?:

Even if the fan motor is perfect (and the power supply is available and connected) - it will not run without a proper ground connection.

Run a jumper from the battery to the new fan - if it doesn't run you either have:

1. A replacement fan that is bad right out of the box. Or

2. No ground connection from the metal fan housing to the truck body (that bolt on the firewall)

Ok so that ground that you high lighted yellow could have gotten obstructed some how? Cause the fan worked before. I will check the grounding and if that doesnt work ill just start volt metering the wires.

Thanks for all the help guys!!!!!!
