Changed all four sealed beams due to moisture inside. Not sure if I had this problem prior to changing bulbs or at least never noticed it. The upper lights (I think dim lights)come on with light switch. When I go to brights, the passenger side bottom light (brights I think) comes on but dim bulb goes out. On the drivers side, dim light stays on when I go to bright. Never looked before so I am not sure what is supposed to happen dims on or off when brights are on. Something is wrong just not sure what. Thanks

Here are what they are supposed to look like and the correct wattages for each lamp:

The uppers are the only ones on when the low beams are selected.

They have dual filaments. On lows, the lower wattage filament is energized.

When you switch to highs; three things happen;

1. The lower wattage filament in the uppers is de-energized

2. The higher wattage filament in the uppers are energized

3. The lowers - which have only one filament - are energized.

If you didn't do anything other than plug in 4 new sealed beams, check that the prongs of the lamps are properly seated in their plugs and making good contact with the copper connectors.

Next check that your front lighting system is properly grounded on both sides. Be sure that the terminals that are bolted to the radiator support are clean and tight.

Thanks for the reply's. Swapped bulbs and still did same thing. Chengy, you were right on I had and issue the plug. Could wiggle the socket and they would go out. Seated the bulbs better for now will pick up a new plug next time in town. Once again thanks for the help
