The chrome lock strip around my windshield and rear windows has degraded and turned gray. Is it possible to replace them with new 'chrome' ones without replacing the rubber seals? Has anyone done this?
If it's necessary to replace the entire seals along with the strips, who makes the best ones?

Short answer, yes. Longer answer, if the gasket is old and hardened it may be considerably more difficult. however I don’t think it could be more difficult than actually reinstalling the windshield. That’s a bitch!
And don’t even attempt without a lock strip install tool. And smooth the edge on the tool that gouges the chrome on the strip when you slip a little. You’ll know which edge the first time you ding the new chrome colored plastic.
