"General Mayhem" Ex Plow Truck Restoration Thread

I've named the truck the General Mayhem. (Roadkill Reference!)

Heres a current album of progress on the truck. It was used as a plow truck for a snowmobile dealer here in Northern Ontario so it was rusted out pretty bad and needs a new cab and box.

I will be Updating as I go along

Next is unhook the steering, Wiring, and Linkages for the cab and then blowtorch the cab mounts off the thing and then get the front clip off and sandblast the frame

Custom deluxe was a trim model!

That box is completely done i've been looking for another box and cab found a couple good ones in a junkyard here in town so im probobly gonna take that route

Haha I guess so! I always thought the same about the Custom Deluxe trim level. What's Custom about it if it's Stock and what's deluxe about it if it was one up from a base model? Haha

Don't ditch your old cab until your done there are odd little differences from trim to trim.

In All reality, They were just names that general motors came up with for the different trim levels of the interior

Yep i am gonna use everything i need from it and only gonna scrap it once the truck is done.

Im trying to hold my self back from getting a project just like yours. I know of a few for cheap. Solid 3/4 ton 4x4s for cheap too. The only problem is it turns into an obsession where I spend all day and all night working on it till its done. I think its a disease. That's what my wife tells me anyway

I added a factory tach instrument cluster. Then added electric speedo to that because mine is a 1990.

Also added electric mirrors from a 1992 chevy van.
