USUALLY, the gasoline keeps the fuel line cool and if the pump is installed back end of the cab near the fuel tank valve where it should be, I'd think the exhaust isn't near as hot back that far. Not like anything near the exhaust manifolds. Unless you're having a vapor lock problem with the E pump turned on, I'd imagine you should be OK where the E pump is.
