IF you need additional advance at idle other than what you get by clocking the distributor. Then you don't know how to set timing......
The only advance at idle should be set by distributor clocking. Then off idle your vacume/mechanical kick in.

Cool. I only have vacume for the highway. It ran better locked out.

Please back up your comment with another page long explanation as to why my carberator is miss tuned. And how the faulty tune makes it apparently run Better when the vacume is locked out......

I see what HotRod was talking about now LOL Too bad there wasn't a 3rd option to hook up vacuum advance to. Now that would be entertaining!
