Front spring question

I’ll put yours and @Ricko1966 suggestion in my back pocket. Those are great ideas. At this point I’m actively practicing walking past it and telling myself “they’re all like that “.

My cousin is having our family’s old ‘54 resto-modded in a shop, and their square is the same way in all the pictures, haha.
This is what I was telling you how to make out of 2 bolts and a coupling nut.

Homemade version if you make one. Drill the heads of the bolts with a large bit to make a divot on the heads. to keep from walking off the ball joint studs. Look at the one in the pic,a drill bit works fine. Use 1 short bolt 1 long bolt ike 1/3 and 2/3 with just enough length to fit between your ball joints. You understand the rest.. the reason for long bolt short bolt,if you want to use it on a different vehicle you can just use 1 bolt and the coupling nut just get 1 longer or shorter bolt for the new vehicle. You also will want to get jamb nuts,for the expanding bolts.

That’s good stuff right there. Thanks bud! I reckon it’s gonna be a beautiful day here in town, sounds like a cruise down to Hardware Sales is in order.

Also keep in mind the
Leaf springs sag a little and can affect the front. The fuel tanks extra weight over the years cause the spring to sag. More than one person and even CPP states to swap sides with the springs and it will level it out.
