I posted in my other thread but only got 1 response. So here we go. I have an 87 4x4, I purchased an 80 3/4 frame with axles. Frame is a lot better than mine. Will my 87 front end bolt to the 80 frame? If not what will I have to do to make it work? Thanks.

Whats so wrong with the 87' frame that you need to go through all that trouble?

Not much trouble at all for me. The PO sprayed the frame with something and water got behind it and the frame is very soft in quite a few spots.

I think the 80 model has the cowl vents in the hood and I'm pretty sure the 87 does not. You will run into issues there. There are ways people make the older hoods work on the newer cabs but I don't know what is involved. Usually people go the other way, putting newer front clip on older cabs mainly for mini quads.

I will be using my 87 hood, fenders, radiator support, and cab. I just needed a better frame. I still want to use my gaud headlight set up. If this frame won't let me do that then I guess I will have to sell it. Can I do this swap with out a **** load of customizing?

It will work, I thought you meant '80 front clip on '87 cab when you talked about a front end swap. The frames are the same.
