Like the title says. I brought home a 14 bolt SF rear end and a matching 10 bolt front end last night. I should be fine using the U-bolts and plates over on the front end, but I'll need U-bolts and plates for the rear axle. Anyone know where to find plates/U-bolts that will fit the 14 bolt without spending a ton?

I already checked the junkyard, nothing there.

Donovan Spring in Londonderry NH bailed me out. The truck is a K35 single, with a 14 bolt (10.5").

The U-bolts are installed upside down and run opposite the normal direction. I was having a wicked hard time sourcing these. Donovan had them on the shelf. I bought them along with with new 9 stacks (shackles, bushings, hangers) so I really don't recall the cost but I would be surprised if they were more than $10 -15 each.

These guys are good - they only do truck springs.

Or you could hunt around Nalleys data base. They look like all U-bolts cost $10.66.

I was on RockAuto looking at parts - they have U-bolts for the rear axle but it says they are 3 1/4". I believe that the 14 bolt axles are 3 3/8". Anyone think that they will fit or could this be a rounding issue or maybe 1/8" isnt much to worry about? Not really crazy about spending $100 for u-bolts and plates, trying to find a cheaper source.

I have all my u-bolts made at a local spring shop. They are always exactly the size I need and the cost is usually less than ordering somewhere. If you're using lift blocks in the back, you can just squeeze the u-bolts a bit and use the 1/2 ton plates. Or you can elongate the holes too. While at the junkyard, check the Furds and Dodges too, they often have plates the right size.

I eneded up getting the u-bolts and spring plates through Ruffstuff. They are heavy duty looking!
