Ran into a girl in town that I haven't seen in a long time, making small talk and catching up, told her I picked up an old 70's pickup and was doing some work with it. She asked what it was and I said a GM square...she looks all disappointed and goes, "Oh, I was hoping you were gonna say a Ford," (she drives a newer plastic F-150).
I *wish* I'd thought of something better to say, but I was put on the spot, so at the time I could only manage "Yeah, well I wanted to buy something that I could drive home"
In retrospect, a better snuff would have been, "I thought about it, but I don't have the money to start up my own shop right now"
