Started with a painless harness, part #20205.About 1/2 way through it.The hardest part was the interior,by far.I keep adding a few odds and ends my truck didn’t come from the factory with.Extra courtesy light, dome light, passenger side door light activation switch, and a more modern radio.Still have a ways to go.

In this project,I also am rigging up a Dakota Digital gauge cluster.Part # VHX.It doesn’t give a number.I tested out a few of the systems, really because I couldn’t stand it anymore.

I know why I put this project on the back burner for a year. It’s overwhelming at first…..but then,if you stay with it,you break through.Still don’t wanna do it again.

I know I said I would do videos and document this project, however,I’m just not that guy.

I got crap scattered everywhere and I don’t stay on task in the mornings because I drink to much coffee.

Anyway,a few photos…

Looks like your doing good, did you pull the seat to give you more room to work under the dash?

Getting ready to drill in the roof of my truck. Was hoping someone could give me a dimension, please.

Installing a dome light (factory gm).Could someone tell me what the distance is from the edge, top of the back window weather stripping,to the bottom edge of the dome light fixture.

I was trying to guess, but want it to have room,be right.

Thank you in advance

Mine is 1 7/16" from the bottom of the light to where the metal is bent back horizontally towards the rubber seal.

So,I had to get somewhat creative on the Dakota Digital sensors. One picture of that stainless plug,WTF is that for? That was originally my plan for temperature sensor, however, that is not a coolant access point.I’m not sure what it’s for.I thought maybe it was manifold port, nope.

So I went back to my original temp sensor location,in the head, but had to figure out how to keep it away from the header heat.I guess the part about all this that really sucks,is I was banking on that plug to be my location and had run the wire and cut it to length….bonehead.

The oil sensor wouldn’t work because of distributor inference.

Anyway,we are good now.

Overhead courtesy light, gas tank sending and rear tail section is all that remains on this job

That coolant sensor set isn’t going to work. It needs water passing by the sensor at all times. Not dead ended with that elbow set up. I run a temp sensor with headers like factory no problem.

Here you go. The bezel has a curve in it that matches the curve in the roof. It can only go in one location, you can't screw it up. Also, search my thread on here about grinding off the chrome plating on the bezel where the electrical contacts snap in or you may end up with a short like I did. Cheap Chinese sh t these days have zero quality control.

If you still need dimensions for the light, just say - I have everything out of the cab and can literally trace the opening, then upload it in a pic you can download and transfer. Did this before with the dual tank switch opening.
