So I just replace the cam, intake, and carb on my truck it is an 85 k10 with a 305. I can get it running but it will not stay running with under 20* of initial advance. I recently did some research and found that the cam I used already had 4* of advance ground in and I advanced it 4* as well so the cam has 8* of advance. Of course it should need more timing for the advance valve timing but should it be that much and how do I compensate for this. I have read that 10-12* of initial with 36* total timing.
