engine noise/ heat

i have alot of engine noise and heat coming through the firewall is there any at home fix's to do to help cut down on noise and heat?

Plug the bigass hole in the firewall....






No, seriousely....do you have anything missing from the HVAC box, like the ac evaporator, or any other major parts?

not that i know of but i know the big ******** i had a rubber insulated plug wrapped oround the wires going out and then went and sealed up the holes i could see with a can of gray expanding sealent

Something must be missing, of all my squares there has never been one with excessive heat or noise from the engine compartment. I even drove my Blazer around for a while without any carpet in it.

i dont have any carpet in mine i coated the floor with a thin layer of herculiner and that only quites it down a small amount unless you use a lot of it

i dont have any carpet in mine i coated the floor with a thin layer of herculiner and that only quites it down a small amount unless you use a lot of it
i was thinking about doing the herculiner in the floor, but is it worth it?

depends on how much you put down mine is only 1/8 inch or so but it helps stop rust and it easier to clean than carpet plus it doesnt hold water like carpet

well my [passenger side has alot of rust on the floor i tack welded a patch over for now but ill try the suggestions and see what works best mabey even just do that all then throw the carpet and add some foam carpet padding to help
