I was always under the impression that if the last three digits on the casting number were 010 it meant it is a 4 bolt main. every 010 I have come across has been a 4 bolt. highdesertranger

They go either way. I was told that too and found it out wasn't true.

My 2 bolt stroker engine is a 010 block.
So yes, they are both 2 and 4 bolt mains with that casting number.
It would make way too much sense to do it in such a way to make it easy to ID a block .......
