I am replacing the elphant ear mirrors with sport mirrors. what I need the picture of the inside of the door where the elepant ear mirrors INSIDE MOUNT is. I need to drill holes for the smaller mirrors but i want them braced solid, the thin metal wont hold any mirror very long without an inside brace. if the inside brace is the same size and the outside mirror mount for the bigger elephant ear mirrors then i wont have a problem mounting the sport mirrors.

When I put power mirrors on my 1981, I used large washers behind nuts for the bolts used to mount them. Did the same with my spare tire carrier on my S10, I can hang off it without ripping the metal out.

Lol, pipe down!

The inside brace for the sport mirror is very different than the brace used for dumbo mirror. It would be best to track down the correct braces, but the sport mirror really doesn't have much weight to it. You could probably get away with just mounting them right to the door skin. If you like, I can get measurements for the correct placement.

I actually need the measurements for the dumbo mirros placement. If somebody could PM me that, that'd be great. :p
