Had this same issue with my '85 C-10. Right brake light/turn signal operation was intermittent. I have tilt wheel. with the steering wheel in the up position, brake lights and turn signal worked perfectly. Steering wheel in the down position, the right brake light/turn signal would not work. My wife actually diagnosed this for me! The yellow wire from the right side brake/turn signal lights go through the turn signal switch. Removed and replaced the turn signal switch, lots of fun there, and now all works as advertised!
