Weird problem with hazard lights

What I would do- Since you have checked the fuse and flasher relay, I would check the connection at the turn signal connector and also see if I had voltage on the brown wire there. It is knee level on steering column. If you have voltage there, I would personally just put in a new turn signal/ hazard switch.

I checked and I do have constant 12v in the orange wire at the relay.
So it’s the signal from the switch that’s not getting to the relay.

Gonna get a switch and get it swapped out and take it from there.

Sounds like the hazard switch itself is failing internally — pretty common on these older columns. I had the same issue on my ’89 and replacing the multifunction switch fixed it right away. The brake light behavior you describe is exactly what mine did before it quit completely.
