You know Marty, that would be an ideal repair to me. I don't weld though I'd like to start; this looks like an easy project to begin on. I have been looking at a 100A mig/fluxcore welder for body/frame work.

Will flux core welding work on this job? Or is arc welding better?

I found this in a search to answer my question. This guy uses a stick welder. Though I think I'll just make the new plates work, and worry about welding another day.

Stick is better for welding steel.
Flux core is ok for some things, especially if You are in a condition with a breeze or a wind, but when it comes to frames aand bodies, wire and gas is better.

Good to know, does anyone know of a big name retailer that sells it? I've looked but can only find it online.

I buy it online on eBay from Eastwood.

I learned how to mig weld aluminum the past few weeks at work. I am itching for a wire feed welder for myself.
