So I have a 1990 4wd burb for a parts rig (TH400/NP 241) -- are both driveshafts interchangeable in my '91 burb with 4L80e/NP 241? Thanks - trying to decide if I want to keep them or not....

Why not just measure them?

I did a quick search but didn't come up with much. 2wd info doesn't apply because the thickness of the adapter changes everything. For example, a 700r4 and a th400 are a different length. But because of the adapter design, a 700r4/208 and th400/208 have the same overall length.

yep, I'll just measure to be sure. Thought someone might know off the top of their head. Thanks for doing a little poking around....

4l80e should be 2" longer than th400, so this would make the drive shaft length different by at least 2"

4L80E/241c rear shaft is 48.99"

1990 (which were all T400/241c as I recall) rear shaft is 58.75"

1991 front shaft is 31.66" long.

Used with 4L80E transmission; 32 spline.

1990 front shaft is 29.58" long. 27 spline.
