Does anyone know how to verify what model of 1973 chevy k10

The cab doesn't have the back cab belt trim so it would be a Custom or Custom Deluxe. but then again they would have come with a painted bumper.

Can you tell us what assembly plant it was built in?

If it was built in the US you are SOL, because the Heritage Center records do not go that far back.

But - if it was built in Oshawa, or sold in Canada, then GM of Canada would have the original paperwork, including option content and selling dealership.

Find that SPID label, or pull the seat apart and see if there is a build sheet stuck in the springs.

The problem is that it's been painted several times and we don't know what trim might have been shaved in the past.

Valid point, but, You should be able to reach up in the B pillar and feel if there was a hole for the corner trim screw.

Valid point, but, You should be able to reach up in the B pillar and feel if there was a hole for the corner trim screw.

I noticed a few thinks, like the cigarette lighter in the ash tray that might have been with the cheyenne, I read about it in the original 1973 release pamphlet for the models of trucks and that there are holes in the roof when we pulled the moldy foam headliner out which wasn't original, possibly the holes are for the plastic headliner that came with the cheyenne

Is there any particular reason you need to know the trim of the truck? Just pick the trim level you like and fix it up with parts that match.

My '75 has Silverado trim and I have the original SPID to get colors and other details. However, I have deviated from original in several areas. For example, my hood and front fenders are reproduction items that don't have quite the right shape for a '75, and my entire bed is one I bought in the junkyard off an 80's truck. I'm using 16" tires and wheels instead of the original 16 1/2" split rims because 16's are cheaper and easier to find. I'm also using newer design mirrors and the grill is from a late 70's truck. If someone really knows squarebody trucks they would very quickly see those mismatched details on my '75 , but the only comment I ever get is "nice truck".

The first picture is what my truck looked like when I got it from my family farm. The 2nd picture is what it looked like when my son started driving it in high school. The third picture is from last year, which is about 17 years after the original body work and paint job. The truck is still working hard.
