Do carb trucks have an in-tank fuel pump?

I have an 84 model suburban with the 5.7. It has the mechanical fuel pump on the block but does it have any kind of electric pump in the fuel tank? It seems like that's a long ways for the little mechanical pump to suck fuel from.

Thats the only pump and it has the ability to move plenty of fuel. There is no pump in the tank.

My 77 just has its pump on the block and was like that even in stock form. 84 is probably the same way I'd imagine.

I beleive the in tank pump came about with the move to TBI in 1987.
