I'm switching from diesel to gas and was wondering if a gas fuel gauge from a 78 C10 will work in an 85 C10, or do I need to find one from an 85?

I've taken a fuel gauge from my 86 blazer diesel and put it in a 74 gas camper special, seems to work ok.

I used a fuel gauge from a mid 80s gas truck in my originally diesel-powered 81 GMC
