So as I'm fixing up the truck, I'm moving on to gauges and the engine bay. I'm ordering a couple autometer gauges to make a set of what I have now, and I need to decide on a new cooling setup. In the interest of cost and simplicity, I want to stick to a clutch and mechanical fan. The truck just has a beat up fan (came with the truck, don't know if it's stock) with no clutch for now, and obviously I'd rather have a clutch for better mpg and power.

I tried looking on summit since I'm building an order already, and there's so many choices. What size and make should I get? I prefer a lightweight flex fan but big enough to do the job and fit in a stock shroud (need to pull one from a junkyard, my truck was in sorry shape when I got it).

If it were me, I’d go with a stock fan and thermal clutch. They work well, last a long time, and if you can find one at a junkyard, you’re in it cheap. Not sure of the diameter of the fan, though.
