Well today took the wife to work,temp about 107 ( WTF is up with that) Chubs never even tried to overheat....oh Chubs always does try hard to please everyone.( Ok Chubs the wife named the Burban)

Todd if you look at a lot of modern trucks that do a lot of towing, they retain the clutch fan so you are probably wise going with your gut instinct in that regard. You would NEED it to work, no matter what.

But on the other hand, I've replaced several fan clutches on newer trucks because they are worn and don't provide enough airflow.

Well, that's better than the burb naming your wife Chubs.

I keep toying with the e-fan mod but then I think about the fact that my rig already climbs steep trails in 90-100* heat with a full load and no trouble. My clutch fan is fairly new and it's oem so I'll keep it until it gives me problems.

I've heard a lot of the aftermarket clutches are crap so if you replace one it's best to pony up the bucks for oem quality.
