I have a 4BBL carb I removed and in the process of putting it back in. This carb has the choke heater tube assembly that runs from back of carb, down into the exhaust manifold and back to choke. Of course with this being a 1983 C20 (Custom w/ 454) the tubes have rusted off on the top so no way to hook it back up. I pulled the heater tube assembly and the lower part of the tube is intact, just need to be able to re-connect to carb and choke. I picked up the Dorman 76850 kit, but no where can I find decent instructions on replacement. Can I just address from top, or do I need to drill out the old lower tubes and do a complete replacement? Anyone that has done similar that is willing to provide better instruction would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Edit: Added image of removed choke tube and Dorman Replacement parts.

I went ahead and Just replaced the setup I had and have just run the Dorman from the output on back of the carb, back over to the choke input, basically bypassing the choke heater (to keep the system enclosed and prevent dust, dirt, bug infiltrations). So far it seems to be running OK, of course I am in south Texas without cold winters.
