Can I shift a 4L80E with the solenoids?

I find this

1-2 Solenoid 2-3 Solenoid
1st Gear On Off
2nd Gear Off Off
3rd Gear Off On
4th Gear On On
I gues that the lockup also uses a solenoid.

It,s not real rocket sience to make a set of flappy paddles to do that.
Would just need a small gear lever for P-R-N-D
Have a new steering colum in the truck without the shifter.
Dom,t have the computer for the Trans, and prefer to shift in manual.
I know that it will shift a bit hard this way , but will it work?
