I think that the pump in my tranny is gone. Ever since I got the truck it took a while to shift into gear when it was cold, but had no problems after it warmed up. A couple of months ago the tranny went out while I was driving and the truck stopped pulling. Now if you try to put it in gear it just revs. Any thoughts on this? I really need this truck for transportation and I'd like to get Old Gold back on the road.

My truck started doing the same thing. Mines a 78 with the same trans but 4x4. I'm no expert but I was thinking that would be torque convertor. Hopefully someone with more knowledge than me will either confirm this or tell me I'm dumb haha

you both need to have your transmissions rebuilt. blown torque converters will not cause it to simply not move.
