Hey folks! I hope everyone is healthy and well.

I'm having a blinker issues on my 86. The passenger side to be exact. I replaced the bulb and wired on a new socket as the back cover of the original one was old and brittle and snapped in half. I couldn't get the blinker to blink before and still can't with the new socket and bulb. I also don't have the green arrow blinking on the dash. I did check the fuses under the dash and didn't find anything. Switch in the column maybe?

I'd check the terminal on the driver's side by the rear bumper for voltage.

Rear bulbs are all good and drivers side blinks as it should.

Did you replace the flasher yet? Snoots was saying to check the front bulb too. It won't flash if one of them on that side is burned out.

So how does this work? I replaced passenger side socket and bulb and got it working great. Decided to replace the drivers side socket for the amber blinker bulb as well because it was old and brittle and a little melted on the back. Get all finished up, setting grill back in and I’ll be damned if drivers side now won’t blink!! It was blinking fine! I double checked wires and all is good. Happened to mess with the tilt on the wheel and noticed when I tilt it, my blinkers wig out...has the be something going on in the steering column?

My 86 would break the wires in the column so I replaced the stalk a few times. My problem was the cruise would quit working. Probably time to at least check where the harness plugs into the wiring from the stalk. I think it’s behind the cover under the steering colum but don’t recall exactly.
