Biggest Tank in a 86 SB

what is the biggest fuel tank that will fit in a 86 shortbed fleetside??? 16g??? i'm only going to run 1 tank and would like to put the biggest capacity one i can

If you remove the spare tire mount you could put a tank back there like the ones that the blazers came with...I think the biggest saddle tank is 16 gal tho

If you do the Blazer tank mod you could run 25, 31 and even 40 gallon Suburban tank if you wanted.

I don't think there's enough room for the 40 gal tank. It's longer than the 31 gal.

the only thing i don't like about the mod is the filler neck. i'll look into a clean way of making it work...but if not i'll go with the single 16g

I was going to do this and run the filler out the back bumper and use the spring-loaded license plate cover. Either that or relocate the filler door like you see it on a blazer.
