The story I have with these bars is so long that I won’t bother wasting your time telling it but suffice it to say that I have three sets of bars and two sets of brackets, all brand new, that I’ll be glad to sell to the first person who will come and pick them up.

Yes, and much happier. They were used but easy to install and very sturdy. I am going to cover them with anti slip material for safety. My bones are old and fragile and I can’t afford to slip and break anything.

Bringing this post back from the dead...
I wish I saw this write up before I bought these bars. I got them because they seemed simple enough. I assumed there would be some drilling involved, I'm more annoyed that there is no way to install these without removing the muffler. And the instructions have you start on the passenger side and then say "repeat steps 3-7 on the drivers side" to get away with it.

I've had my steps for a couple weeks now and they're still sitting in the box since I know it's going to be a project. And of course the muffler clamps are all rusted to hell...

I wish there were better options for these trucks. N Fab used to make a really nice set up but of course it's been discontinued.

Could probably pick up a set of N-fabs for an OBS or NBS and modify without too much trouble. Since they mount to the pinch weld, you'd just have to fab up the support brackets to go to the inner rocker or floor pan

It's a good idea, and one I'm kicking around. But I'm barely a shade tree mechanic, much less a fabricator. And I have exactly 0 welding experience.

In any event, I finally decided to just return the Aries bars. My muffler is just not coming off without being cut, which opens a whole other can of worms. In the end, it's just not worth it for bars that, in my opinion, look cheap and out of place anyways.
