There's one or two spring clips that push into a hole in the body, the rest of the 'clips' are flat pads with 3M tape on them, which need carefully removed with a razor blade.

My 79 SB had flat 3M pad clips or screws. I bought all brand new chrome strips after paint job. The flat pad clips came with 3M adhesive already installed inside the pieces of molding.
