I have a 1984 1 ton dump truck that I want to put air conditioning in. Does anyone know if I can swap everything out of a 1990 Suburban? Has anyone done a swap like this? Any help or suggestions is appreciated. Thanks!

IF the 1-Ton is not factory equipped with A/C you will need to modify the hole in the firewall to accommodate. The hole for the blower should match. Here are reference pics for the 2 different firewall opening setups from non-AC to AC:

I have a pic with some rough measurements somewhere here but I can't seem to find it ATM....

Thanks 89, seeing photos of both side by side helps a lot. It does not have factory air so I would have to relocate the hole on the right plus it appears I would have to cover my existing hole.

Since Suburbans have rear Air, will this cause any issues in converting this to a regular cab? I'm assuming I will have to change the wiring harness from the Suburban also. Has anyone done a swap like this or know where information might be found for doing this kind of swap? Thanks

The housing inside the cab is fine. The outer housing on the firewall will have an extra hole and resistor mounted for the rear fan. That can just be left in there unplugged or you can make a little cover for it. The rear a/c harness is separate from the front heat/ac harness. The freon lines that hook to the front are teed to hook to the rear lines. I don't know if you can cap them off and use them or just get straight lines made or off another vehicle.
