So it looks like I can get a used hard top canopy for $100, that way I can save my old canopy for a re-installation if I decide to.
A guy in town has a 12 volt rooftop A/C system for sale for A couple hundred. Sounds like it was removed from a brand new RV that got totaled. So I could put the whole thing together for about $300, and I could still back peddle to the original hard top if needed.
As an alternate option -
I do have a mini generator in the garage. It looks exactly like an alternator with a little tiny two stroke motor than runs it. I wonder of I could just add this mini AC generator to my engine, and run it like a second alternator. I have a dozen air conditioners laying around that I cut put inside the Blazer, and then just duct the A/C exhaust to the outside. I have window A/C units, portable A/C units etc - some big and some small, so one of them might work for this setup.
The mini one might not have enough juice, but I do have several other generators that could could be canalized. A 1500 watt, a 3750 watt etc. I'm sure I could put a pulley on one and get a longer belt for the engine.
Plus it would be cool to have unlimited A/C in the rig. Run a welder, air compressor or what ever else - fully mobile.
Hmm.
