A/C Control Panel

So, I am at a stall. My 74 has ac control panel. It wont move to heat. Im thinking I need the cable, but I am also being told I need the vacuum attachment piece. I am unable to find this thing. The one in the truck is still there, but I think its not attaching somehow. Anyone have any idea what I need. Is It just the cable or the whole thing. Everything else moves with no problem. Vacuum lines have not been tested yet.

The only cable operated control is for the blend door that controls the amount of heat or cooling. All the vacuum motors are controlled by the other slider, and that is how you get the “heat” position.
