Ok so prepping for my lift and ordered stainless extended brake lines, bought a tough country lift but got rough country brake lines part #89360S. By all accounts that is the right part number but when I look at my brake lines they looks just like the lines they sell for the 73-78. Can anyone validate for me by these pics what brake lines I have and if they are not what is expected could anyone explain why? Thanks all!

find out the banjo nut size. of its 7/16 it's the early 73-77 ish lines. if it's a 10mm banjo then it's the later style.

It is 7/16 so I guess that makes it the old style, but can anyone answer why or how that could be!? I could see if they changed from 86 to 87 but if that style ended in 78 how did my 87 end up with it?

I can buy that but what I don't buy is that the frame does not have the hex shaped hole it should have and the bracket the line mounts to where it meets the hard line are riveted to the frame and none of that looks altered at all.

anything is possible. have you confirmed what your front axle is?

I am running 2wd lines on my truck for the front and running 2013 Chevy truck line on the rear.

No I just bought the truck a month or so ago and am admittedly new to square body chevy's. What would I be looking for to identify the front axle. The petina on it does not at all stand out as if it has any different age or was from a different vehicle. If it wasn't for these brake lines nothing would stand out as out of place.

Take a picture of the front axle looking at it and get a good shot of the diff.

Hmm ok couple of things... Your truck type says 2500.. Is this vehicle a 3/4 ton suburban? And if so does it have 8 lugs rims?

No that's a typo, I registered for site before buying and originally was looking at a 2500. Mine is a 1500 with 6 lug wheels, my biggest concern with all of this was the suspension kit and exhaust I just bought but the part numbers are the same for all years 71 to 87 so eh if the brakes lines are all that's up then so be it.

Ok. Yeah you have a 10 bolt up front so that part is correct just someone probably swapped calipers at some point in time.

Just order brake lines for the 73-77ish or whatever year it was they changed over.

Or replace the calipers and put the proper lines back on.

The brackets that mount the lines to the frame are correct for the year. I haven't really noticed, but that should just be a 4x4 thing that they all have.
