I have a 1987 c10 2wd was wondering how to find out what size the carrier was and the spline count on the shafts... Im about to put a aftermarket locker and gears in it and I was just wanting to buy the right parts.

It's an 8.5" ring gear 10 bolt rearend.

I can't answer the spline count question.

28 splne. Don't buy a 28 spline carrier get a 30 spline for a 90 r10 or v10 suburban and go to a salvage yard and get the axles from a 2wd 12 bolt 73-80, or get a 28 spline and use your current axles. Those are just 2 easy options.
