86 k20 flatbed and plow

trucks a k20 with a plow but tranny doesnt shift down to hot. trying to get for 1000bucks. whatcha think?

Hell yeah I'd get it. First thing I'd do is sell the flatbed and find a regular fleetside for it. Sell the plow, fix the trans, throw a cheap paint job on it and resell it for $2500

turns out its only a 1500. has two differant ratio axles 373 and 273 and shifts up fine but doesnt downshift so well. i was thinking of running it for a winter truck and maybe plowing a few houses

I am not familiar with adjusting syncro's but it sounds like it needs a new clutch master cylinder, that would probably fix the hard down shifting.

I would take it even with the mismatched gears only because I have 3.73s I could put in it but someone who hasn't messed with gears before might not want to tackle it. If you get it dont try running it in 4wd or you'll kill the transfer case. If it is hard to downshift I would also say check the shifting forks for wear, and on Pirate they have a writeup for taking the slop out of the shifter incase that's the problem.

Looked like a good deal its ashame its only a halfton... I know where middletown is. I got lost once going to my Gf farm in Pine island and some how got on 17m off 284.
