81 k10 frame rusted

Need some advice. While I was replacing the rear springs i found the frame was rusted thru on the drivers side rear mount! How do I repair this? Thinking about welding a plate on the back side of the frame. I'll try to get a pic up as soon as I can.

I am in a similar boat, I was washing my frame up and the powerwasher was blowing thru some rust in the frame near passenger side rear. This is close to where the class III hitch is attached. I was thinking I would cut it back to good metal then weld in an angle piece. Then weld small overlapping pieces over those seems to support the them. Grind it down, rust inhibitor & prime it.
Couldn't help but notice you are from Roland, my wife and I got married in Roland...small world.
